表現とは他者への暴力性を少なからず内包する行為であると捉え、室井は自身も表現者として纏ってしまうであろう暴力性と対峙しながら作品の制作を続けている。

Muroi believes that expression is an act that includes violence toward others, and he continues to work while confronting the violence that he, as an artist, may wear.
In 2009, inspired by graffiti, he began creating works on the street. He takes photographs of landscapes created by arranging materials such as daily necessities in the suburbs, as if he were the one who discovered them. In the process, he was strongly influenced by Art Brut while in college, but became aware that he did not have the ability to create such works, and began to seek Art Brut in academic settings. He has used the prophecies of dreams, compulsive collecting, and the oppression of working as a manual laborer to feed his work. In recent years, he has focused on the memories of others and himself, creating new narratives as paintings and installations, incorporating into his work the leaps in imagery that arise from the ambiguity of memory. He also emphasizes the importance of actually working with his hands on site to create spaces for his exhibitions. In addition, he is also active in the "Tohoha" as the current form of "Street Observation Society（Rojokansatsugakkai）,"Isshuumawattetsurai" to commercialize unnecessary things with the power of sensibility, and "Tofutokaniclub" an artist collective that makes it a daily routine to create one piece of artwork a day.
